3-Day Refresh is a newly-released cleanse program created by Beachbody. As a Beachbody coach and advocate, I find it my “duty” to test their products to be able to give my true, honest opinion about them. What first attracted me to this cleanse is the intake of Shakeology. Would/could I complete a cleanse without having this everyday? No, I don’t think so. The second thing that attracted me to it was that I was actually going to be able to have FOOD! (yay!) I love to eat and not having the ability to do that for even a few hours can tip me over the edge; how on Earth would I go sans food for 3 days?! Whoa, no thank you. So enter 3-Day Refresh. A program incorporating Shakeology, 2 protein shakes throughout the day, a fiber sweep (made up of psyllium husk, flax and chia seeds), fruits, veggies, and healthy fats — plant-based diet which is also new to me (NO dairy, meat, seafoods, or even grains of any kind).
Day 1 — I weighed in at 128.8 lb. Ugh, there it is, my weight on the internet again. I had my Shakeology, fiber sweep, and lunch… and was feeling pretty good! I had a slight headache going into the afternoon. I taught TurboKick and BeachFit TripleThreat that evening (I just watched my SURFSET class do their thang!). Then I biked home. That wasn’t my smartest move. A little too much activity for a cleanse specifying “mild to moderate” activity while doing it. I followed the plan to a T that day, with the exception of a cup of black coffee and an extra 1/2 scoop of Shakeology for energy. I woke up ALL NIGHT long with serious hunger issues. Day 2 was going to have to be modified…
Day 2 — I weighed in at 125.0 lb… 3.8 lb. down. Not quite sure how. I drank a TON of liquids on Day 1, so it wasn’t water weight. I kept drinking to keep my hunger down. And it wasn’t from going to the bathroom… if ya know what I mean (TMI– sorry!). Regardless, that was the number on the scale. I bumped up my calories quite a bit this day.. having 3x the servings of fruits, veggies and healthy fats recommended on the plan. I also added in an egg (I know, I cheated!). I felt energized though. I needed those extra calories. I taught 3 classes this day.
Day 3 — FINALLY! I was still 125.0 lb. when I woke up. I had coffee again, and more servings than recommended for the fruits, veggies and fats. I taught 3 classes today as well.
TODAY’s weigh-in was still 125.0 (now the scale will miss me for a while because I DO NOT weigh myself everyday on a daily basis!). I finally used the bathroom more today (sorry TMI again…!). I have felt energized today. And I was REALLY excited to go grocery shopping!!!
-Plant-based diet chock-full of healthy fats
-Proper nutrition from whole food sources and Shakeology
-Felt very healthy and lean
-Felt satisfied with the foods eaten, just needed extra since I was very active.
-Not enough calories for someone who is very active
Would I recommend 3-Day Refresh? Yes! I personally feel like it was worth my time and effort to follow the plan. I would recommend it to…
*Someone who wants to jump-start their health program.
*Someone coming off vacation or a weekend of too-much-indulging.
*Someone who wants to “clean out” their system and just take in basic, healthy, plant-based foods for a few days.
*An individual who can be “mild to moderately active” for a couple days, or simply add in more calories like I did.
